    new principal announced

The OUSD School Board unanimously approved Dr. Jose Villarreal as the next principal of Oceanside High School. Dr. Villarreal previously worked as the Vice President of Epiphany Prep Charter School, Senior Director for San Diego County Office of Education, Juvenile Court and Community, founder of Vista Magnet Middle School, and Assistant Principal of Rancho Buena Vista High School. Welcome aboard, Dr. Villarreal!

Thank you to Teresa Collis for serving as the OHS Principal for the past 4 years. It is a big job and Ms. Collis always put her heart into her work, thinking about how to best help students while positively promoting OHS to the community. We are fortunate that she will continue to support OUSD students in her role as CTE Coordinator. Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate!

    About Our School

    About Us

Oceanside High is a school grounded in tradition that dates back to 1906.  Our students and staff live by our Pirate core values and a vision that prepares students for college and career. We are located less than one mile from the beach where our students can enjoy Surf and Yoga PE.  We have a rich and rigorous range of academic, Career Technical education as well as extra-curricular activities. We are proud of the opportunities our career pathways bring to students such as internships, work based learning and personalized support. In 2016, our Health Careers Academy was awarded the California Distinguished Careers Academy.
