9th Grade Camp Advance

OHS 9th Grade Camp Advance

Recognizing the unique needs of our freshmen, Oceanside High School developed the 9th grade Camp Advance to bring together staff and students in order to build relationships that will last a lifetime. Beginning with the class of 2017, and with the intention of continuing the tradition every year thereafter, staff and students embarked on an overnight retreat to Camp Margarita on nearby Camp Pendleton. The United States Marine Corps graciously donated the facilities, food, and supervision to provide our students with an unforgettable experience. Students were immersed in 36 hours of team building activities, motivational speakers, life-skills learning opportunities, and much more. Students came away from the camp understanding the importance of relationships in their lives, and knowing that they are all surrounded by people who truly care about them.
